About me
My name is Asun Ortiz, and I am a saxophonist and violinist. This dual training allows me to approach transcriptions from a unique perspective, understanding both the original writing and the real possibilities of the saxophone. Each edition is prepared with rigor, seeking to transfer the musical essence of the original work into an idiomatic language for the saxophone, without sacrificing expressiveness or technical clarity.

How Elise Hall Editions was born
Elise Hall Editions was created with the aim of offering carefully revised editions of works that are already part of the saxophone repertoire, but which often lack a clear and accessible edition.
In the field of classical saxophone, it is very common to perform transcriptions of works originally written for other instruments, especially string instruments. Many of these scores circulate and are performed frequently, but they have not always been prepared with the editorial care needed to ensure clear, coherent, and musically grounded reading.
This editorial project was born from that need.
03
Editorial approach
Each edition is prepared with a special attention to detail.
The aim is to transfer the musical essence of the original work into the idiomatic language of the saxophone, respecting the composer’s style while providing the performer with a fluid and musical reading experience. To achieve this, aspects such as notation, articulation, the instrument’s implied fingering, and the visual clarity of the score are carefully reviewed.
The result is a set of scores designed to be practical, musical, and faithful to the spirit of the original work.

The origin of the name
The name of the publishing house pays tribute to Elise Hall (1853–1924), an American saxophonist and patron of the arts who played a key role in the history of classical saxophone.
Her visionary drive led her to commission new works from composers such as Claude Debussy and André Caplet, making a decisive contribution to the development of the instrument’s repertoire.
Her legacy inspires this project: to continue expanding the saxophone repertoire with care, respect, and a deep passion for music.
